Social, Emotional and Behavioral

School Consulting

To evaluate the effectiveness and inform multi-tiered systems for academic, behavioral and social emotional prevention efforts .

The most effective way to address the rising demand of behavioral and emotional needs and the demand of support staff in school buildings is through strategically allocating preventative efforts that are feasible, manageable and effective. Many behavioral and emotional needs affect layers of a students life (their academic success, relationships with others and overall mental health). In some cases, many students may not show observable signs of distress until they can no longer tolerate their symptoms or effects of stressors.

In order to support effective early identification, prevention and equitably divide supports amongst tiered needs, the American Psychological Association (APA) and the National Association of School Psychologist (NASP) have promoted the use of universal behavioral screening tools to address behavioral and emotional needs.

SEB consulting offers school districts consultation services in building capacity in making data-based decisions around the social, emotional and behavioral needs of their students while simultaneously collapsing and layering committee work to serve the needs of the building through best practice and research based intervention implementation.

Our objectives are as follows:

  1. Ensure district and school building social, emotional and behavioral supports meet the needs of the entire student population

  2. Building a school community that integrates supports of student's academic and behavioral success

  3. Culture based on accountability of performance using research based best practice interventions and frameworks

  4. Utilize and strengthen home-school partnerships
